The German Shepherd Dog Club of Manitoba offers Obedience and Conformation Handling Classes. The Club has four sets of classes each year beginning in September and the last session ending in June. The Club wishes to demonstrate the rewards of owning an obedience trained dog. One who is a wonderful companion and a well mannered member of society. Instructor:

Laurel Skuba
Laurel Skuba began training her first show dog, a Keeshond named Tessa, when Laurel was only 11 years old. They competed in conformation, junior handling and obedience. With Laurel, Tessa achieved number 1 Keeshond in Obedience in Canada for two years running. Laurel went on to win the Manitoba Junior Handling provincials two years in a row with the family Belgian Tervuren, Trojan. Laurel began grooming dogs at the age of 16 and today her sole income is earned through dog grooming, dog training and professional show handling. She has earned many titles in obedience and numerous Best in Show wins in conformation.

Donations:

Through a combination of private and Club donations, four certificates for obedience training class sessions were provided to the Humane Society, for German Shepherd Dogs, or Shepherd Cross adoptees.

The owners have expressed thanks to the GSDC of MB stating the classes have been of much benefit. “We have a better dog all together.”
